Major Law Firms Unite to Investigate Zimmer NexGen Knee Replacement System Claims

Two law firms work together to review claims of Zimmer NexGen knee problems after reporting by major news and medical publications exposes claims of high premature failure rate by orthopedic surgeons.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) March 16, 2011

The law firms of Onder, Shelton, O'Leary & Peterson and Langdon & Emison have partnered together to investigate claims of faulty and failing Zimmer NexGen Knee Replacement Systems. These two law firms have been recognized for their handling of products liability cases and serious injury claims against major medical and pharmaceutical companies

Medical device recalls are unlike any other product recall. This isn't like throwing away a bottle of pain relievers. This is something that may require surgery and those that are adversely affected deserve compensation.

Zimmer, Inc., the maker of artificial joint replacement systems, announced the recall of over 65,000 NexGen MIS Tibial knee replacement components last fall after it was determined to potentially loosen, possibly causing pain and discomfort and even requiring additional surgery to replace the Zimmer NexGen knee in some cases. This recall has spurred a number of Zimmer NexGen knee lawsuits and prompted questions by major media outlets about NexGen knee replacement systems that were not part of the recall.

Major publications such as the New York Times ("Surgeon vs. Knee Maker: Who's Rejecting Whom", June 19, 2010) have written about allegations by prominent joint replacement surgeons, including one of Zimmer's own highly regarded former orthopedic surgeon consultants, about failure rates of select Zimmer NexGen knee replacement systems. This leads most to believe that while the majority of the Zimmer NexGen knee replacement systems are not experiencing problems, other models are - both those recalled & those not recalled.

The law firms recently launched the web site http://www.ZimmerNexGenKneeRecallLawsuits.com to provide information about the recall and what prominent publications and medical journals have reported regarding some orthopedic surgeons' allegations of high failure rates in select Zimmer NexGen Knee Replacement Systems.
