Naturalyte Liquid Acid Concentrate and Naturalyte GranuFlo Acid Concentrate are produced by Fresenius, which the New York Times reported sent an internal memo in 2011 to health directors and attending physicians warning that GranuFlo could increase the level of bicarbonate in the bloodstream, increasing the risk of heart attack, but did not report this information to the FDA or warn its patients (nytimes.com/2012/06/15/health/fda-investigates-fresenius-for-failure-to-warn-of-risk.html). Fresenius Medical Care of North America is the largest operator of dialysis clinics in the United States with approximately 1,800 locations.
